Student Travelers spend as much as older travelers!

Welcome to the second installment of Student Travel Statistics. Last week, I gave basic statistics from Student Traveler.

I did more research this week, from both the Travel Industry Association and Student Youth Travel Association, which help shows how important young travelers are to the travel industry.

First off, a Travel Industry Association (TIA) of America survey showed that under-35 travelers spent about the same as did 35- to 54-year-olds on their last leisure trip — $1,321 and $1,336, respectively.

Student Youth Travel Association "Student Travel Trends 04" showed that young people to the following places: Europe 39%, Australia 26%, Asia 14.5%
